Gaming on smartphones is exploding these days. There are tons of different kinds of games that suit just about any gamer out there.
Today, I’m going to tell you about 6 Android games that use the accelerometer as the main control.
aTilt 3D Labyrinth
Labyrinth is the classic game where you control a steel ball by tilting a wooden labyrinth. The game checks how good you can control your nerves while you roll your way past walls, holes, and rotating pieces in order to move the ball into the goal. aTilt includes 258 levels, and you can create and share your own levels online. There is a free version that has ads or you can purchase an ad free version for $3.99.
Falling Ball
This game is very simple. All you need to do is tilt your phone to run left or right to avoid falling balls and save your 2D man from getting hurt. The game starts with only a single ball bouncing here and there, but as you move on, the number of balls increase in the same limited space.
Abduction
This game is very simple with only one objective, reach the top by jumping and navigating on the platforms, saving the animals and finishing the level. If you’re looking for a Doodle Jump alternative, you may have just found it.
Penguin Skiing 3D
Penguin Skiing is a very fun 3D racing game where you drive the penguin down the slope of various famous, snow-covered mountains while catching as many fish as possible. There are two options to control your penguin. You can use a virtual D-pad or the accelerometer.
Freestyle
Freestyle is a simple yet addicting ski game reminiscent of the old Ski Free game for Windows. Race down the slope avoiding trees, catching air, and performing tricks using your Android’s built in accelerometer.
Radio Ball 3D
Radio Ball 3D is not a free game, but I shared it with you all, because it’s my favorite game to date. It’s an accelerometer controlled tunnel game with a uranium ball being driven by radioactive waste. All you need to do is go as far as you can, collect power-ups, do combos and avoid or destroy obstacles. Get your score as high as possible and keep rolling. You can compare your scores online and compete with other players through Scoreloop.
